Storytimes at Ohio Twp. Public Library System are designed to promote early literacy skills for kids before they go to kindergarten. We begin with Baby Storytime for infants and continue up the ladder, until kids are in all-day school. Our storytimes incorporate pre-reading skills your child can start learning from birth, through lively read-alouds, flannelboard activities, finger plays and songs, kids start getting ready to read before they start school. You can help your baby, toddler and pre-schooler learn important skills now so they can become good readers.
Except for 2 storytimes devoted to babies (under 22 months), all storytimes are for a mixed age group. Even the youngest child can enjoy the stories, songs and activities. Our storytimes are very active and we don’t expect kids to just sit still and listen. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to stay in the room to enjoy the stories and activities with their child (required for Baby Storytime Storytime). Registration is not necessary. If you have a questions about storytime, talk to one of our Librarians.
