Remember all those great books that are full of ideas and that we kept in our “Parent/Teacher Resource Room?” Those books that you could look at in the Library but couldn’t check out? Now you can check them out! We have moved a big bunch of those books into our new “Early Literacy Collection” so you can check them out, take them home and find tons of ideas and activities for all kinds of things – crafts, learning the alphabet, counting, beginning reading, making flannelboard stories, playing with puppets. . . . . (We did keep some of the books in our Parent/Teacher Reference Collection; they are not available for check-out.) We put the ones you can check out near our back door, just to the left, past our DVD bins. Need help finding something in that collection? Ask one of our friendly librarians!
Watch this space for an announcement of our upcoming parent/teacher workshop on early literacy information at the Library.
