The Ohio Township Central Library and H.E.L.P. (Healthcare Education Learning Partners) are collaborating for Lunch & Learn program about Alzheimer’s disease. This free lunch and informational session takes place on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at the library.
Alzheimer’s disease is more than occasional memory loss. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, it can be difficult to tell normal memory problems from memory problems that should be a cause for concern. Helene French, area Community Outreach Coordinator for the Alzheimer’s Association, will discuss the signs and symptoms of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease along with disease management information for caregivers and families.
Sara Jones and Keith Gander of Oasis Dementia Care will discuss the benefits of assisted living facilities, adult day care, and respite care options.
There will be literature and brochures from both the Alzheimer’s Association and the Parkinson ’s Disease Foundation available for families and caregivers. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia, this program may help answer some of your questions.
This program is free and open to the public. To reserve a spot, or for more information about this program, please call 812-853-5468, ext. 301.
