Written By: Diane - Mar• 29•13

War veterans are not the only ones who may experience Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. (PTSD) According to the Mayo Clinic, many people who go through traumatic events have difficulty adjusting and coping for a short period of time.  However, if flashbacks, sleep disturbances, and frightening thoughts last for more than a couple of months, you may be suffering from PTSD.

The Ohio Township Public Library and H.E.L.P. (Healthcare Education Learning Partners) are collaborating for a Lunch & Learn program to help explain the symptoms and treatments for PTSD.  This free Lunch & informational session takes place on Wednesday, April 10 at noon in the Diamond Room.

Marla Minton, a social worker and therapist at View Pointe Counseling in Evansville, will be the speaker.  She will discuss the following topics: what PTSD is, its symptoms, other forms for PTSD such as mass trauma and cultural trauma, and treatments (including unconventional therapy).

Come join us and learn how to help yourself or a loved one who may be suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  To reserve a spot, or to find out more information about this program, please call 853-5468, ext. 303.
